Mission description

Spring is here and that brings sunshine, ISASP testing, FAST, field trips, and MUD on the playground. A quick reminder that students are required to have boots for recess while the playground is muddy. Teachers will notify parents when they are no longer needed.

ISASP testing for grades 3rd - 6th grades is quickly approaching. Students will participate in a 'prep rally' to prepare them for the test the afternoon of Friday, April 4. They will participate in activities that will help them during testing time. FAST testing for kindergarten through sixth grades will take place in May. We will again do some 'prep' to prepare for these tests.

In the past, we have tested as part of our reading classes or their math classes. Our approach this time will be to set these tests apart from the 'normal' of the school day. We will designate the times and days for these tests. These test are important and we want to present their importance to our students. Our PTO will be providing supplies for the prep rally and snacks during testing. We ask parents to help encourage your children to get a good night's sleep, eat a good breakfast, take their time on their tests, and do their best. Your teachers will commuicate the times your children will be taking these tests.

The week of May 5-9 we will be celebrating our teachers and staff. Our leadership teams are busy planning the week for our teachers and staff. Our students work hard to make this week enjoyable for the teachers as they show their appreciation. This year's theme is "Our staff is OUT OF THIS WORLD". There are items on the amazon link in the app that can be purchased and donated for the week. It also contains items for the preschool Earth Day activities. In our Catholic faith, we view parents as the first educators. We are honored you choose us to help you educate your children. Working together only means success for our students. We know children will make mistakes, it is what helps them learn and grow. Communicating this with each other helps keep your children growing. There are some things we hope you can address at home that we are addressing at school.

We are noticing students saying unkind things to each other. Some frequent things we say to them are: “If you would not say it in front of Jesus, we don't say it. You don't have to be friends with everyone, but you do have to be kind to everyone. If you don't have something nice to say, then it does not need a comment.”

When we collaborate together we will nurture kind, faithful scholars that demonstrate service.

Thank you for choosing IC School!
